With several hours of binging over, it’s time to say goodbye to one of the most amazing shows I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

Thank you, Marvel’s Runaways. You gave us an incredible show, a perfect cast of characters, and some of the greatest LGBT rep on tv today.

Thank you, for letting us come on this journey with the team. It’s been amazing watching this group of kids grow and change over the last two years. Watching them find themselves, as well as find each other has been a beautiful experience. Seeing these people accept themselves and come together in a variety of different romantic and platonic relationships has been a delight. This has been a true found family experience.

Thank you for Deanoru. Seeing Karolina, someone who appears to be the perfect pretty blonde straight girl, realise she’s a lesbian was a path so few shows take and so many more should. Having Nico, a Japanese goth girl, discover her own bisexuality was something so rare to see. Nico and Karolina coming together seemed impossible. But here we are, still going strong after three seasons of love, adoration, and no deaths at all. I feel lucky to have been able to see something like this.

Thank you for gertchase. A powerful Latina feminist paired up with the jock who really is trying to become better. It’s a wonderful dynamic that always made me smile. I’m going to miss them.

Thank you for Molly and Alex. Although he wasn’t my favourite at all times, Alex brought an interesting dynamic with him, especially through this relationship with Nico. It was great watching his journey as a character. Molly was exactly what the group needed. She was the little sister, yes, but also the one that kept things together. They wouldn’t be a family without her.

Thank you for bringing back Tandy and Tyrone for an episode. The crossover was a dream come true for me. Seeing all of these characters I love together and becoming friends was perfect. After the cancellation of Cloak and Dagger, I thought it was over for them. I can’t thank you enough for letting me see Tyrondy one last time.

Thank you Hulu, for bringing me my favourite show of all time. The last two years have been an incredible journey that I wish didn’t have to end now. Its been my pleasure.

And finally, thank you to the fandom. I know I’m not the most active user, but I am here. I see all of the incredible work all of you have put in to make this fandom it’s own family. I’m glad that this show has had an impact on so many of us and brought us together. This fandom has created so many beautiful works and I’m thankful to see how it has helped us all flourish.

I still can’t get over the series finale of Marvel’s Runaways. Like...everyone is alive and happy AND there’s a Dermot Kennedy song playing? It was everything I ever wanted. But now that I’ve had time to process I have some other thoughts so here goes:

I hated Elizabeth Hurley as Morgan LeFay. Honestly I hated the entire storyline. It was just terrible. It was so bad I don’t know where to start.

What was the big deal with bringing Scarlett Byrne in other than to be like “oh, there’s Pansy Parkinson?”

I don’t know what the creators were trying to prove by killing so. many. people??? It almost felt gratuitous?

The last episode felt so rushed? Like wow that was a lot of exposition we had to get out of the way in a very short period of time?? BUT I missed them so much as actual normal teens and I LOVED the moments between Gert and Molly and Gert and Future!Chase. “Can I give you a hug?” Could the boy be more precious?

There was so much Deanoru. I love them too. But that also felt gratuitous to me. Like...their arguments didn’t feel real enough? As someone who ships TF out of them, I expected to be more affected and I was like 🤷🏻‍♀️

Also possible that it felt gratituitous because we didn’t get nearly enough Gertchase. That scene where they were creating the weapons??? AND THEN I HAD TO WAIT LIKE FOUR EPISODES FOR A KISS?

And Chase looking at college admissions for Gert was super sweet but he didn’t hear her speech? And she was okay with that? THAT ENTIRE SCENE COULD HAVE BEEN DONE SO MUCH BETTER AND I’M MOURNING THE MISSED OPPORTUNITY, tbh.

I DID love Gert and Chase’s talks. We finally saw them being actual adults and saying uncomfortable things. It also means a lot to me that they allowed Gert to have the scene with Old Lace immediately after Chase told her he loved her. It made her crush on Max seem trivial and I was living for it, tbh.

Tamar being brought back was weird? And Geoffrey helping her raise Darius’ baby? Like what?

Xavin’s storyline was subpar. Very anticlimactic. And Leslie has no attachment to the child she birthed? At all?????

What the fuck was Gert’s flashback over Stacey erasing her memory? AND I HATED how they tried to say that’s where her anxiety came from? Like WHAT? Poorly done, show runners. Very disappointed in that ridiculousness.

The entire last episode was written as if they knew they’d be cancelled (and they must have) and yet they show Alex’s note about Victor and Nico, etc. Like...why? How could they ever come back after that finale? Like I’m honestly asking.

Basically I fucking love this show so much but this season was far from my favorite season. I’m pleased that it ended with everyone alive and happy but there was so much that felt rushed and ridiculous.

I feel like Runaways and Cloak and Dagger were such good and progressive shows with social messages I was really into and dug and they had 2 main ships in both show... One being an interracial f/m couple and the other being an interracial f/f couple that led the show and had the focal points of their shows. It's a shame there won't be more of either because they were both so good.

I agree with you. These two show were so good in regards of representation and they had so much potential. I really think that every season they got better and the characters were so amazing and interesting. The best thing was that they had a lot of representation but it wasn't just a publicity stunt or a way to get attention bc they really fleshed the characters out. It wasn't diversity just for the sake of attention it was actual great representation and I'm so sad and also pissed that we won't have more of them

i personally feel attacked we got robbed of some great happy couple!gertchase for season 4. 

yes we had small moments in s2, but a lot of it was hard for gert because of her anxiety, and then they just get back together to have them break up again. 

we got some cute things in season 3 but i am talking full on cheesy couple. 

- making jokes and teasing each other. 

- cuddling in bed together 

- going on dates 

- having cute one liners 

- encouraging each other more 

- gert being excited about getting into smith and chase being just as excited

like all the possibilities were there and its like “lol fck the gertchase fandom we made the suffer in season 1 with chase flirting with karolina and jealous gert, season 2 we’ll have all this angst and sadness and season 3 we’ll slowly build them back up, showing them how much they love and mean to one another, get them back together only to cancel.” 

yeah i said it. i’m mad. sue me
